Wind And Spirit Amphion Modern 1972
Another co-ed folky rural group -- a seven member one from Massachusetts. One of the best of the genre. I like it better than Infinity Plus Three. Autoharp and flute, bongos and tambourines, harmonicas and harmonies. Acoustic, light electric, 12-string, and bass guitar. And nine well-crafted interesting songs that seem most desperate about passing on the good news. Pure folk of the title track (read without a drum kit) to rock opener 'Don't Fool Yourself'. And charming?!? You bet - very real with the mistakes right in the mix. There is a sense of urgency, commitment, and contentment in this album that makes it important to me. I need this album. Beautiful sun through the clouds cover, too. BF
