Noel Paul Stookey

Paul And Warner Bros. 1971
Includes the popular "Wedding Song" that Stookey gave the royalty rights away because he felt that the inspiration had totally come from God. Also released Noel... One Night Stand (Warner Bros BS 2674, 1973) before recording some Christian albums in the 1970s and '80s. DS

 Turn It Over
Live album recorded at the Sydney Opera House in March 1976. Stookey's song lineup included a song adaptation of Psalm 23, a rendition of the popular Peter, Paul, & Mary hit "Puff the Magic Dragon." DS

Something New and Fresh Neworld 1978
 The Winner
This is a very experimental album including a song in Latin. The front cover includes a glow-in-the-dark green pastel print of Stookey's face. Includes brief snippet of the traditional "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and a kitschy "Don't Use My Name." DS

Band & Bodyworks Neworld 1979 (original censored cover & reissue)
 Know Jesus
 Juice
Caused some initial controversy because the original cover depicted Noel dancing with a partner in a bar where patrons could be seen drinking and smoking. Sparrow Records fearing that their customers would be offended by this pulled the artwork and reissued it without the picture. The songs "I Wanna Testify" and "Love All Around" stand out. DS

Noel was/is the Paul in Peter, Paul and Mary, one of the most popular folk groups of the 60's. I read that he became a Christian after Bob Dylan suggested he read the bible.
