Jay pre-beard days

Born: 9/24/47
Born and raised in Lynwood, California, Jay's involvement with music began at an early age. A self-taught musician, Jay, like so many others, gained his musical experience playing in local rock bands. Looking for some kind of change, Jay moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he formed a rock group called Spirit Of Creation with a friend, John Mehler.

As the months passed, Jay became restless in Salt Lake. He decided to move to Hawaii in hopes of finding the "true paradise." Within several months, he was on his way back to the mainland. The trip to Hawaii was a futile one, and Jay came back realizing that something was lacking in his life. In search of that "something," Jay eventually found himself living in Laguna Beach with Chuck, Fred and Tommy.
