A spirit of excitement and anticipation permeates Melodyland on Tuesday night. It seems hard to wait for this "Hotline Hour" to begin.
Outside the night air is bone chilling cold, but inside a spirit of warmth and love fills every cubic inch of Melodyland. A favorite song, "Since I Opened Up The Door," is introduced -- and the doors to many hearts begin to yield a bit.
People begin to sing along, "Since I opened up, opened up the door, I can't think of anyone else but Jesus anymore." Sincerity and truth in the lyrics pry open the heart-doors a little wider with each phrase.
A heavy drug user in the audience begins to realize that before him stand four miracles: four men who once were hippies involved with drugs, eastern philosophies, vegetarianism and religious cults -- all looking for truth and spiritual fulfillment.
But now they have found truth, peace, joy, purpose and spiritual fulfillment in the person of that special Person, Jesus.
Before the evening is over, 75 young people -- many drug users, many alcoholics, many with other needs, but all separated from God -- are reconciled to Hi, by the personal experience with His Son, Jesus. many walk out of Melodyland, never having to use drugs again. They have heard the reality of Supreme Love in song -- because of LOVE SONG.
